Actually, she probably never ate any garlic at all, but had discovered a 
garlic spray to put in her mouth to accomplish the desired effect -- 
getting all her students to practice really well so she wouldn't sit 
next to them.  She probably smiled all the way through the note-perfect 
recitals.

And only played duets with those students she hated most!  ;-)
