I will remember this when I get this material back for further edits, as I
probably will. I didn't get your message until after I finished this wave
of work on the material. I spent 25 hours on this between Friday evening
and Sunday night, and I still have to go back tomorrow and finish extracting
parts and printing.

It was a very instructive experience. I have worked on computers since
before there were PC's, and have always known that it is important to do
things properly and to avoid jerry-rigging, and this really reinforced that
concept for me. The the original operator's credit, he probably didn't
think about someone else having to edit his work, and some of the things he
did probably seemed reasonable work-arounds for things he might not have
known how to do properly. However, he was inconsistent in how he did
things. Sometimes when he needed to have the chords appear below the line,
he dragged the chord baseline down; other times he put the chords in the
lyrics.

Another good thing that came out of this was that we had to get an upgrade
to 2002b from 2001b. It's nice to see some of the improvements, although I
had some trouble with the fancy slurs, and never figured out how to get the
chord handles to appear.

I know I haven't seen the last of this project. I will probably be begging
for help again soon.
