Is this a piece that you KNOW the timing of, as in you have calculated the times using metronome settings, or is this a piece that you have a recording of and the timings didn't match between Finale and the recording?
I just did an experiment -- created 60 measures in cut-time (120 beats), created a tempo marking of half=120, and the check elapsed time returned a timing of 1 minute, just as it should. Then I entered a plug-in-created tempo marking NOT defined for playback in the 31st measure, set to half=60. This should have changed the indicated length to 1'30" but it didn't. Once I entered a tempo marking of half=60 which WAS defined for playback, again the Check Elapsed Time returned the right length (there was .03 seconds added for some reason, but I would never list the approximate length of a work to include hundredths of a second anyway. So it would be interesting to see why the timing was off in the file you checked. You do need to define any "create tempo marking" plug-in-created tempo markings for playback at the tempo you are entering for display, and if you enter any tempo indications such as Allegro or Andante you do need to set those tempo indications to playback at the proper speed.
