Hi all,

I'm trying to send EPS files to a Mac to open in Freehand. I know nothing
of Macs.

The files produced through every combination of methods I can come up with
(Finale 2K3) either don't work (and don't distill to PDF on PC, either) or
have multiple superimposed lines. The PDFs look okay and print fine, but
the EPS files are a mess and can't be edited with any facility because of
all the superimpositions.

I've tried print-to-file EPS, graphix export to EPS, OwnPS=0, OwnPS=3,
various resolutions and embeddings, various printer drivers, etc., and have
used the 4.50 driver and just updated to the latest 4.53 driver just in
case that was it. OwnPS=0 seems still broken; it produces great graphics
via EPS, but there are no notational elements (and when distilling again
produces the WinCompatWhatsis error as it has for several version of
Finale). OwnPS=3 (or nothing) produces the superimposed mass.

Is producing Mac-editable EPS just a hopeless cause? Is producing any
reliable and portable Postscript just hit and miss?

Dennis
