A xylophone sounds one octave higher than it is notated. How about Marimba?
How about vibrophone? Do they succumb to the same rule?

No, vibes and marimba sound as written, which means some marimba parts will need a great staff to get all the notes in. Vibes will be fine in only treble clef, as they mostly stop at F below the treble staff.

I get in the habit of checking marimba ranges with the organization, or the player if possible, as there is a great variety of ranges available now.
