Hi Steve, If all you want to do is change the quote characters, the ETF solution proposed by Richard seems like a good bet.
But for the more general problem of using Finale files in Illustrator on Windows, I was bitten by this same problem a couple of months ago. Here's the situation as I understand it: Finale's Windows TrueType fonts don't work in Adobe Illustrator (and apparently other PostScript tools), even though they work in Acrobat. This is the case on Windows 2000 but I think it applies to other Windows versions too. Interestingly, if you substitute Sibelius's TrueType fonts for Finale's, those will show up in Illustrator. But the stem connections and other placement details will naturally be incorrect unless you set those up manually. On a Mac, things work fine. Maybe on Windows there's a workaround with PostScript fonts, but those don't work at all in my system setup. I've reported this to Windows tech support and they have been able to duplicate it at Coda. But please send this in to Windows tech support as well to increase the chances this will get fixed in Finale 2004!
