I am working on a MAC G4 with OS 9.2.
Last night I was attempting to create a new file using the setup wizard. Right at the end, instead of opening up, I got a type 2 error message and Finale closed.
There is over 700MB of RAM, and the only thing running was Finale. Although it is not the problem, there is even ample room on the hard drive.
When I first joined this list, I remember some discussion about the necessity of zapping the PRam. Is that right? "Zapping the PRam?" Could this be the cause of my problems? The issue has appeared out of nowhere, and occurred also when I was extracting parts. Not even big parts, and not a lot of them. 69 measures, mostly slash notation, three parts being extracted. Please help me, Obiwans.

Try increasing the amount of memory Finale uses. With Finale closed, single click on the program icon, press command I to get info. Find Memory in the dialogue box, and increase the minimum amount by 25% or so, or more if you think you can.
Or it might have been a random crash, solved by re-booting. One never knows, do one?
