Optimize the score BEFORE you insert the new staff for the last page. As long as you don't re-optimize the previous beginning staves, the newly inserted staff won't appear, except for the last page, which you'll optimize separately after the insertion. FWIW, you should try TGTools for working with optimized staves and myriad other items. It's indispensable. HTH *************************** J.D.
