[Finale] Speed entry

Hi! I have lap top and don’t have two numeric keypads. When working with speed entry tool how can I step in notes. I’ve tried all shift , alt, caps combinations but only got rests in the bars. I wants triplets so that should be ctrl “3” before. Mike.
