If I understand this correctly, and you have finale 2002 or later, you could
use custom fretboards for this. I've done charts for different instruments
this way.

You probably would have figured this out for yourself, but just to amplify
this one part nevertheless. When I said:

You'd only need to create one set of stacked, unfilled circles. Save that
*set* as a template as well and make duplicates as needed. Then you just
select the circles to use the Fill black feature on and you're done with
that particular fingering.
