a good while back (more than 2 years!) I asked this question and, behold!!,
Philip Aker ( [EMAIL PROTECTED] ) developed the Text Editor PI for FinMac.

For a while it shipped with a Latin hyphenation dictionary I compiled. I
don't know if it's available for WIN OS or not. While I'm currently using
FinWin, I still export text files to my FinMac and run the PI on them. A
*huge* time-saver!!!!

After entering lyrics one invoked the PI and, Voila! One can as easily have
an English hyphenation dictionary. The dictionary used is selectable, so
you could write as many as you need. Philip tweaked the PI many times to
allow for such things as hyphenation regardless of capitalization, repeated
words, etc. One can easily add words to the dictionary using the various
menu items of the PI, search for specific text among various lyrics,
replace instances, etc., etc.

Philip, are you still reading Finale-list?!

Yes, I'm here Cecil, and everyone should know that there wouldn't be any hyphenation facilities at all if you hadn't made the original request, supplied the first Latin dictionary, and been the most dedicated beta tester anyone could hope for.

Maybe by now you've seen Matthew Hindson's post. He has sent over a _huge_ English dictionary. So big it actually blows out the current algorithm. So I've been working on a new method and simultaneously developing it to be a separate OS X Cocoa application to be compatible with any software that supports the clipboard or text files. Right now, the engine driving this whole thing is ported and available for testing for those with OS X 10.2 or newer. If anyone with a newer MacOS wants to help, there's a 5 minute test available. I'm just checking to see if it works on various machines. Terribly sorry it's not available for Windows. My time is extremely limited these days (even for Mac products) and I don't expect to be out of those commitments until at least September.

Best wishes,
