Ken Moore (who plays the bass) responds: I don't understand the questions, but clearly the overall problem is clutter, so why are you putting in the fingering? I can think of only one legitimate reason: that you are a bass teacher (writing either a part for one of your pupils or a study.) I find that when I am in a bass section, I use different fingerings from my colleagues for nearly all the tricky passages. Remember basses differ in size, number of strings, character on the different strings (so that some players have more need to avoid an open string than others) and, possibly, even tuning. Players differ in size of hand, in training and in general approach. -- Ken Moore <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -- Patsy Moore AGSM ARCM <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Teaching accompanist Conductor, arranger, etc. etc. Newbury College Late Starters' Orchestra Web site: http://www.mooremusic.org.uk _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
