Sorry to bother the list with this if it has been discussed here before.
I just re-subed to the list after a two-year's gap.
Recently I am writing songs with Chinese texts, but I have troubles to
get the files to print as long as the Chinese characters are included in
the Finale file. I remember when I just bought the printer and the
Apple Chinese Language Kit (version 2.0) in 1998, I was able to print
out files with Chinese characters on them.
The only thing that has been changed since and that I can remember was
that the OS system was upgraded from 8.6 to 9.1 two years ago. I am not
sure whether this is the problem.
I tried searching for the Apple site for info regarding Chinese
Language Kit, and saw an updater. But after I updated the CLK, it did
not seem to change anything. I did not even see the version number
changed. I tried searching info for the HP site, and updated the drive
version. But it still doesn't print Chinese characters (any type of
files that have Chinese fonts on it). I called the HP tech support, and
he said the printer should support Chinese fonts.
Oh. I even removed the CLK and reinstalled it again. Then something
came up indicating some extensions are no longer needed (Worldscript II,
and others, I don't recall) because those are supported by OS 9 (or
something like that). But it still doesn't print Chinese fonts.
I am running out of options. Can anyone help? Thanks.

On my OS 9.1 disk, the Chinese Language Kits are in the "Software Installers:Language Kits" folder . Is that where are installing CLK from? Also on that disk is the World Text application (in the "CD Extras folder). Are you able to print Chinese from that?
