You can use TGTools to accomplish this: TGTools>Spacing>Add/Remove space in
measure. This will give you the choice of removing space at the beginning or
end of a measure. 
You might also check your preferences for Music spacing in the Document
options (I would say make the minimum measure with 120 evpu or smaller).
Another option to consider is the spacing before or after music: Document
options>Notes and Rests>Spacing before/after music.
