Someone asked awhile back about changing fonts on existing chord
suffixes...maybe this was mentioned in replies but I needed to do that today
and found that Data Check > Swap One Font for Another works just fine to do
this. Just do as you would any swap and it changes. (Of course, anything
else matching that font and size does too, but it's not likely anything
does.

I think we found out that Chord Tool>Change Chord Suffix Font...was sufficient for reducing the (global) size of the Suffixes, you just have beforehand to know the Font and the Size in question. The spacing will also be all right---
