I'm sorry if I have not been clear. So let me explain again I have two problems. 1) I have a file where Music Spacing does not work properly. It was a file I saved under a new name, erased all the notes and put in new notes. So I thought the erased notes could have something to do with this particular problem, by want of any other explanation. Yes: I unlocked the systems, no, there are no lyrics in this file, no, there are no hidden optimised systems. Just Music Spacing does not work well: it leaves the notes very unevenly spaced within the bars. As if there were lyrics under some of the notes. 2) To solve my problem, I Copied all the notes from the file and Pasted them into a new file. And here is where things are becoming really interesting, because in the new file no notes appear, but the spacing of the empty bars does change. Just to try and understand what was happening I also Copied the notes from the old file and Inserted (in stead of Paste) them into the new file. On counting bars I discovered that I inserted the exact number of bars into the new file, but all of them empty.
I guess both problems are related, but I can find of no reason (Document setting, Staff style, Hidden layers, left-over lyrics, whatever) that might cause this behaviour. David > So I decide to copy all into a new file: Mass Mover > Select all > Copy > New > file > Paste. Nothing, though the spacing of the empty bars changes. > > If I choose Insert in stead of Paste Finale inserts the exact number of empty > bars. This is confusing. You would use Insert instead of Paste (not Copy). In any event, when using Insert, you highlight only one measure. Finale will insert the material from the clipboard, and the measure you highlighted will be moved to the end of the inserted material. ***************************************** David van Ooijen Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Http://home.planet.nl/~d.v.ooijen/ ***************************************** Read about my latest Japanese CD and hear a sample at http://home.planet.nl/~d.v.ooijen/david/ensembles/chiyomi.html _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
