I don't know why mails sent _to_ the alternate list address don't sort, but in my case mails that have the list address as one of the (and not the only one) CC addresses don't sort. These are usually mails sent by David Bailey and (I think) Craig.
(I realize that I could probably sort this out somehow, but I already have several Finale List mailing list sort filters set up, and this particular one is more complicated, as Outlook Ex doesn't actually show the Finale CC header at all other than in the source text.) If possible I would ask that people send mail to the list by using the TO handler, rather than CC, but if that's not an option I can live with the current situation.
