By expand, I mean, double the number of measures and turn all the 1/8 notes into 1/4 notes, all the 1/4 into 1/2 and so on.
Band-in-a-box has this exact feature as a one-button click. It is quite useful in BIAB, but could also have applicability in Finale. I presently have a piece that is quite difficult for the performers to read accurately because 16th notes are requiring a lot of real time calculus (10 different parts make entrances at 16 different points each measure.) I think it will be a lot easier to read if I doubled the length of every object and put half as much music in each measure. peole read 1/8 notes a lot better than they read 1/16 notes
I will do this by hand if there aren't any more elegant solutions. But I'd feel like a dunce if I do all that work then later find there was an easier way.
If the function doesn't exist, this sounds like a good candidate for a plug-in.
Thanks, Craig
