Aaron, No need to worry about a war over extraction tastes...I knew that this process would sound goofy. I had been using Finale's part extraction system for 10 years and got it to work fairly well before I switched to this method, which I cannot take credit for. Lee Monroe, a professional copyist down in Orlando has a company called Express Music Services and has a bunch of wonderful articles on their website on being a professional copyist. One such article turned me on to this new type of part extraction and once I got the hang of it I loved it - I could finish extracting an entire orchestra score in a fraction of the time it took me before, even with all the special part extraction bells & whistles. Anyway, just figured I'd throw my 2 cents into the discussion. By the way, if anyone uses handwritten fonts such as Jazz or Golden Age, you should definitely check out Express Music's fonts - LeeMusic, AshMusic and RussMusic.
