Executable shapes are a travesty in current versions of Finale, you can create them all day long and they don't get saved. You can edit existing executable shapes as long as you want and your edits don't get saved.

They are worse than useless and MakeMusic admit that they don't work right.

Once you have your file created you could use the Midi tool to adjust velocities or volumes to achieve proper playback of what you want, but you would have to do it for each occurence in each file. Nothing like the automating you can do with the expressions tool.

Can anyone tell me how to get Expressions like sfz, fp etc to play
back correctly?

An executable shape for the volume controller?

Sure, but how does this beast work?
(Actually I think the key velocity setting works better for note attached
expressions).
In detail:
There is a big difference between sfz and fp. I think I can probably work
out an sfz. However, how do you set an fp to come down to a fixed velocity?
If I have several fp in sequence, I certainly don't want the volume to come
down more every time until it literally disappears.
