You do know of the option of having artics taken into account for music
spacing? I know it is not exactly what you are after, and in many situations
it probably won't work well.
Yes, but if there's a way to have the articulation definition specify the amount of space to the LEFT of the arpeggio mark, I have yet to figure it out. I can't add a positive horizontal handle position because I need that value to be negative, so that I can define the articulation as "centered" and thus get a consistent horizontal position relative to the chord it modifies. Unfortunately, when the arpeggio falls on the downbeat, it spaces too far from the left barline if "articulations" is checked, and too close if it is not.
