Thing of it is -- I think I'm the guilty party -(not of the white listing thingy I hasten to add) but Phil Daley replied to my Rim shot query and in my return thank you (Thanks Andrew subsequently) I noticed it was only going directly to Phil and so threw in the Finale address ( I make the same mistake i.e. hitting reply and not-- reply all).  I figure it important to show the list that it has been answered properly (or improperly) thus saving numerous similar replies. I never did see the reply come up but got the slamspam

But dang if I'm clicking some monkey link encouraging insult.

Well, would there be any future in asking Henry to do something about it?
And maybe to bar posting from non-members? Most lists I'm on require you to
be
a member in order to post messages. However, Henry seems to want to leave
things exactly as they are, although I haven't read that he ever actually said
so. But he just didn't make the requested changes.

He did, the list is closed to non-members. It has been like this for several
months and worked well.

The person in question seems to be subscribed, otherwise the whole thing
doesn't make sense, since these messages are generated from receiving list
mail.
