I note a new -- or new to me, at least -- feature in Finale's Chord Tool: the ability to position the alternate bass "as subtext." In other words, positioning the alternate bass slightly below and to the right of the chord symbol. (The previous options were only "under root" or "after root.")

This is a most welcome new feature, except for one problem -- it totally screws up the horizontal alignment of all the "slash chords" (i.e., chords with alternate bass notes). Instead of putting the alternate bass as a true subtext -- i.e., *below* the main chord bass line -- Finale also pushes the main symbol *above* the bassline, which looks terrible.

Let me try to give a rough approximation using ASCII. (And please forgive the HTML). Here's what Finale does:

D-7 Abmaj7
/ / G7alt Cmaj7
G G

Here's what Finale ought to do (and what I want it to do):

D-7 Abmaj7 G7alt Cmaj7
/ /
G G

Is there any way to fix this globally? Or do I have to manually adjust all of the slash chords?

- Darcy

PS I also note, with some disappointment, that Finale doesn't support true polychords -- in other words, you still can't add a chord suffix to the "alternate bass."
