Hi Giovanni,

I'm the wrong person to ask about this -- I've never had to use EPS. There was, however, a thread on just this topic recently. Perhaps if you searched the archives, you'd find the answers you were looking for:

One question: what parameters would you set up for a high quality final solution in obtaining eps via pdf?

Giovanni

Is there any way to transfer notation from fin 2004 to fin 2003?

Giovanni

Short answer: no.

Long answer: well, there's MusicXML, but there's no Mac version so I have no idea how well it works. I doubt it's 100% perfect, though, and it sounds like you want perfect copies of your Fin2004 files in every detail, so that might not be the best way to go.

If you just need EPS, I think there are a number of workarounds for making EPS files from Fin2004 documents. It's my understanding that you just need to jump through a few extra hoops -- like making a PDF first, then generating the EPS from the PDF. But that would be much easier than trying to get Fin2004 documents transferred to Fin2003. Finale has never supported that kind of backward compatibility.
