I was hoping for transposition, but I am being lazy here!

Thank-you very much. I needed some professional users opinion and the question about transposition had to be answered. Looks like I will save up for Christmas, I think.

Isn't this the FreeHand product that is compatible with Recordare's MusicXML? If so, you ought to be able to port the data out of the MusicPad into Finale or whatever, transpose there, and then send it back in. And if your data is MusicXML, transferring it should be a heck of a lot faster than scanned images.

I think maybe you should be thinking of the MusicPad as an output device, with some other computer driving the engine for any crunch work -- filing, transposing, etc. Perhaps if you are more specific about what you want to achieve, Michael G can give us some idea of how it might be done. I know that part of the MusicXML concept was to facilitate developing methods along these lines. There's a form for inquiries on the Recordare site <http://www.recordare.com/xml/consulting.html>, but Michael usually reads this List on digest, so he'll probably see the discussion here soon enough.
