I just ordered the upgrade. I hope I don't regret it, because I have a lot of projects already done in Finale 2003 for some of my publishers

I am trying to get my MIDI setup for FinMac 2003 to work on my new Mac Powerbook (OS X.3), my M-Audio USB MIDIsport 2x2, and my Yamaha PSR-280 synthesizer.

When I run finale 2003, I am able to playback a file through my synthesizer with no problems. However, when I try and input notes into finale from my synthesizer using Speedy Note entry, all I get are rests.

Because of the setup on my powerbook, I run F2003 in classic through OSX. I am not able to startup directly from OS 9.

Please let there be someone on this list who can help me out! I hope I didn't make a mistake by switching over to a powerbook from my G3 desktop...

Good luck! Any Classic MIDI operation I've gotten to work has been pure fluke. However, there's a program called MIDIBridge9x ( http://www.troikatronix.com/midibridge9x.html ) that supposedly will make it work. Haven't tried it, since I have a dual-boot machine and was able to go back to pure OS9 when I was still on 2003.

But, despite the still-not-quite-ironed out nature of the program, 2k4 is awesome and you might prefer just to upgrade.
