[Finale] Staff styles

I'm trying to use staff styles to hide barlines on individual sections 
of a score (at the location of senza misura passages).  This works fine 
when the staves to which I'm applying the style are at the top or bottom 
of a group of 'draw barlines through staves'.  However, if I try to 
apply the style to a chunk in the centre of such a group, the barlines 
remain through the whole group, including the staves to which the style 
is applies.  Any suggestions of how to get around this?
