Maybe somebody knows the answer to this. I am using MacFin2004b.
Evidently my preferences won't hold. When I have a Finale document open, I reconfigure the Main Tool Palette to that it is on the right side of the screen, and my tools are set up in a certain order.
Incidentally, I cannot seem to get the palette to display in a single line like could be done in Fin2002b, it insists on 3 lines. Any solution to that? The tab on the lower right does not respond.
My main question is this: Why won't the reconfigured order of tools in the tool pattern say, because each time I open Finale, they are back to the same original positions. I have tried Save Preferences in Special Save, but no success. In fact, sometimes, upon opening, the palette even appears on the left again.
 Any help on this available?
All the best,

Finale 2004b installs a separate application package in your Finale folder (in Applications). The old one is still around, though, and it may attempt to open up when you double-click on files. If Fin2004 (non-b) opens up it will destroy your 2004b Preferences file. You can either delete the original "Finale 2004" app, or if you want to still have access to it you can compress it into a Stuffit archive and then delete it (you can uncompress it later if you ever think you need to.

However, since 2004c is available now via http://finalemusic.com, I would install that update before deleting/archiving old versions of the application package.
