They're StuffIt archives, like Zip files. You can open them with the free StuffIt Expander from www.aladdinsys.com

Thank you, Aaron. I downloaded the decoder (12 MB!) and unstuffed the archive; the extracted files are:

  File name                          Size     Timestamp
  =========                          =====    ==============
  StaffClefPitchesEasy.suit          0 KB     7/3/2004 11:33 a.m.
  StaffClefPitchesEasyKeyCaps.pdf    41 KB    7/3/2004 12:06 p.m.
  StaffClefPitchesEasyNoOverl.fog    177KB    7/3/2004 10:48 a.m.

Font Lab does not recognize .suit format and I had hoped that Font Lab might have the feature to import Fontographer "fog" format files, but no such luck.

Looks like my free fresh-of-the-site Stuffit decoder mangled the .suit file. (I'm running Windows2000.)

(For those who prefer not to have to register with Alladdin, I tried to look for freeware/nonregistered decoders for Stuffit format
and it appears, from Tucows, there are none.)
