I was brought up to use two spaces after a full stop. I am no more
likely to change that than I am to start sticking my foot instead of my hand
into my horn.
Nor am I likely to start calling the wireless "the radio" or my gramophone
"the record player" (or whatever infernal contraption has taken its place on the
music shelf.)
