It seems there's a lot of uncertainty and misinformation out there about OS X and Finale and fonts -- have you contacted MacSupport? Surely there is someone at Coda who can give you the real deal?

One thing I can tell you for sure -- which may or may not be helpful -- is that OS X uses *Windows* encoding for TrueType fonts. So if you have Mac-encoded TrueType fonts that are displaying incorrectly, try replacing them with their Windows equivalents (if you have 'em).

1) I use PostScript type I fonts.

2) Since the Windows version of Zapf Chancery is not named Zapf Chancery, acquiring it will not help me to open or print any of the thousands of my existing files that require a font with precisely that name and no other.

I'll contact MacSupport if I have to, but my recollection is that this issue was extensively thrashed out here abt. 6 weeks ago, so I thought I'd try the list first.
