FINALE 2002 I have some dense chords in a piano part for which I use layers to show both hands on the same stave. The problem is the horizontal alignment of the chords between the different layers. I cannot get the spacing to work so that the chords played at the same time appear vertically above each other and I have tried many different combinations of options. The alignment is so poor that some chords in one layer lie underneath the next chord in another layer, making it totally confusing for anyone attempting to read the part. Originally, before I changed any of the default values, the horizontal alignment was okay, but the notes of some chords, being only a tone apart, lay on top of each other. Playback, however, is correct.
