[Finale Mac 2k4 or 2k5, Mac OS X, Quickeys X 2.1]
Recording a long macro to repeat what you do in Finale does not work very well in QuicKeys. You have to build some of the more complicated macros one step at a time.
Selecting a menu item is easy in QuicKeys, but it gets trickier when you have to select a series of buttons and pop-up menus. (Erase lyrics in mass mover, for example, has many layers and multiple things to click as you all know!)
Here is the tip: When you get to the part where you have to choose or click a button, don't use the QuicKeys default options. Use this instead when programming a button click:
choose "Button Details..."; click the Options tab (not Window); Press Action: "Click button--This action may fail if the button is covered by another window."
DO NOT use the default "Tell button to click itself--This action may not work with some Carbon applications."
My explanation probably sounds as clear as mud, but if you have tried to use QuicKeys in Mac OS X, you might find this useful.
