I am using Reason and have just recently purchased GPO. GPO is obviously an elegant set of orchestral samples, somewhat recorded "on stage." Reason is much more of a virtual recording studio with various synthesizers, drum machines, and samplers. Reason does not have a General MIDI player, so you will have to custom set everything you want to use, i.e., you can't send it patch changes. The factory string sounds are pretty good, but they are much more a "studio" sound.

My concern with the GPO sounds is that they seem to be very large files, so it may not be possible to use many simultaneously. I just haven't had time to learn about this for myself. Reason is probably NOT the place to go for authentic orchestral sounds.

Hello,

This is a second go-around for this question. I do hope someone can help
with this.

Are there any Garratin Personal Orchestra users out there who have also used
Reason? Or who have compared GPO with Reason? If so, can you say, briefly,
if and why one is better than the other?

Thank you.
