I haven't opened any good can of worms lately, so this looks like a tasty one:
Yes, you should be able to do this - BUT - are you sure you want to? A 32nd note, or even a 16th, for the beat value will only lead to unnecessary difficulty in readability.

I currently use Finale 2004. I wouild like to create a tempo marking using 32nd notes but I can't seem to find a font to use as an expression mark. Neither Maestro nor Jazz fonts seem to have a 32nd notehead. 48 hours later I'm still scratching my head.

The Corel "musical Symbols" font has a 32d note as character 0114. If you have access to corel draw, it should be there.
