Do you remember where you got the Tekton font installed from? If you purchased the font once, you may still have the right to use it, but be careful. Fonts supplied with particular products, such as Word Processors, graphics packages, &c., sometimes are licensed only for use with the package with which the font was provided, in the absence of specific permission to the contrary.I did a clean install of Windows XP pro and when I went to use the "Tekton" font, it wasn't there... I used it on lyrics prior to going to xp pro and I'd like to get it back... Can anyone help me???
If you don't have specific permission, you can often come close to the appearance with a font from another source. There may also be a freeware clone of Tekton, by another name. There are two newsgroups dedicated to fonts, one for general discussion, and one in which binaries are posted, where you can perhaps obtain a freeware "looks like Tekton" font.
If you intend to use the font in a commercial publication (that is, you're establishing a publishing company, and have decided you absolutely have to adopt Tekton as a house font, then just contact Adobe and buy a copy. It'll cost you a couple of hundred dollars (or maybe more, possibly a lot more) to buy the rights to use it in all your work, but if you decide to use it, without permission, and Adobe decides to come after you, you'll spend more in attoreneys fees than it'd cost just to buy the font in first place.
