The Ravel "Tzigane", doesn't qualify as a sonata,
however, Ravel wrote it both for violin and piano and also for violin
and orchestra. "Nigun" from the Baal Shem Suite
by Ernest Bloch would be another example. (I'm not sure if he also
orchestrated the remainder of the suite). Lon Sherer
