Without really wanting to take sides on this, I would like to note that I have various user manuals in electronic form, both in PDF and HTML formats. My personal preference is definitely PDF. I find this much easier to handle when searching for certain words, and I prefer to have something in a page format which can be easily printed. None of the HTML manuals I have fulfill this requirement even in a very basic form, printing out excerpts from such manuals always ends up being a complete mess.

I agree with you, but I don't see why we couldn't have both and make everybody happy. It certainly doesn't require much work to convert a manual from one format to the other.

But on the other hand, one wouldn't assume that it would take much work to have a feature that worked keep on working, and look at what a mess they've managed to make of EPS export! I wouldn't trust the few developers left on the Finale development team to have enough time to get it right. I do feel confident they would have the skill, just not the time. Meanwhile, MakeMusic's SmartMusic is going great guns!
