Most time I need graphic output a need only a small section of a page, one 
line or two. The File menu output works only for whole pages. So I would 
either have to adjust the page size step by step until I have just the 
picture I want to export, which can be very tedious work. Or I would have 
to crop the page output in the layout program, which is also unnessecary 
work - I know the function worked some years ago on some earlier Finale 
version and some earlier Windows, and I used it a lot. Thanks god the EPS 
files from then still work.

Another problem is, that quark xpress won't show the TIFFs in full 
resolution, the previews are very ugly and quite unreadable. This is a 
Quark Xpress problem - anyhow I would not have it that way if  Finale's EPS 
output finally worked again...

eps' direct from finale, thus: file>print>copies & pages>output 
options>save as file>postcript. Is this any, or much different from what 
you are pursuing?
