Chuck was kindly trying to help me off list and I realized I neglected to

with the shaded objects.

It's not about my work, but rather my students'. These shaded objects
bothers my students, and they keep blaming on them when they make mistakes :-)
I can't blame them, tho. Even I give white or light gray, it does make
reading layer 1 notes somewhat annoying.

Up until Finale 3.2, I don't remember hid object with 'o' ever showed up
in shade, or did they?

This thread I started was for a feature request to be able to assign
chord to beat, which might require a beat holder as a new object. I was
wondering if I am the only one needing this. So far I feel I am alone.

Having hidden objects appear in light gray is a recently added feature -- I find it to be helpful if I need to edit a hidden object or to see how things line up. It can be changed so that they don't appear at all.
