I was married to a Japanese woman. I was learning Japanese for some time, and I could almost follow a conversation, but the problem was, when I wanted to say something, it took me so long to construct my phrase, that when I was ready, the subject had already changed;-)

And I gave up reading and writing after the first some hundred Kanji or so...

I've forgotten much of it anyway (some years later), but I still like the country and the language...
