You may be right.  I have to organize my thinking.  Thanks to this list,
I am finding better workflow.  Just last week I found dedicating layer 4
for chord is the better way.  In my thinking, the dedicated layer 4 is g,
g, gone from availability, which is not true.  I have to do some practicing.

Since changing notehead to slash and removing stem is the way I have been
dong long years, it is still quicker for me at this moment.

But how to do drum notation was not my original question, tho.

I still don't believe style should dismiss the contents.  This simply
doesn't make sense to me.  Any situation you'd want this feature?  I
mean, when would you want stem direction reversed by applying a style? 
With this many options on every functions in Finale, I found it is very
odd you can't turn this off.
