Hello, I have a question about fonts.
I installed MacFin 2005 yesterday (Powerbook with 10.3.7). I work by exporting EPS files to Pagemaker, which is a wonderful layout tool. Since installing 2005, when I open a Pagemaker file (one that uses pre MacFin2005 EPS files), I see garbage instead of Maestro. I did a few experiments. If I import the old finale file to 2005 and re-export EPS files, the problem goes away. If I print with the old EPS files, the problem doesn't show itself. If I import an old EPS file into Preview, it shows up just fine. So the problem seems to be with the Maestro screen font only, and only with EPS files made with versions of finale before 2005. Pagemaker is a classic application. Somehow, installing MacFin 2005 screwed up the Maestro classic screen font. Everything else seems to be fine. I tried reinstalling just the fonts from my MacFin 2004 disk. The problem is still there. I tried dragging an old saved copy of the Maestro fonts (including the Finale Screen Fonts) to my classic folder, and the problem is still there. The MacSupport guy told me that I should reinstall the fonts from 2004 while booted in 9. Unfortunately, my computer is one of those new ones that won't boot in 9. Anyone have any ideas?
