This I don't know.
I've yet to write this up at the site but the wall I hit surmounted the
crackle (recorded version) but distorted rhythms -- all weekend I've
been working around it -- to see how close I could get to what I really
wanted -- finally I just cut the cymbal entirely and what was to be
some great crashing tympani rolls are tapped out at the sixteenth.
Definitely anticlimactic!
There's more suggestions at the site -- kill all computer functions operating underneath -- Sleep/Airport et al --
I'll try this. It sure would be nice to get the Ambience plugin quality
back up. Or, if turning off and recording dry eliminates crackles, I'll do
that and add reverb later.
This was recommended -- not an option for me as yet.
Another suggestion was to go into Sys pref. Energy saver -options -- turn computer performance to 'highest'
