The easiest way to do it is to create a time signature of 9/8 + 3/4 and then go in and change the + to a blank character. That will remove it and also remove the space between the two time signatures and make it look how you want it to be.

Good approach, specially if you're using Fin2005. Create the time sig in the shape designer, put it in the score as a measure expression (reference it horizontally from the beginning of the music, for example) and in the measure attributes for that measure, add the extra space needed at the start of measure.


If you do this properly, you never have to worry about spacing or other side-effects.
