Here's how to make a key signature showing B natural, E flat, A flat:
- In the Key Signature dialog, choose "Nonstandard...".
- Click the bottom arrow three times to make a normal C-minor key signature appear: Bb, Eb, Ab.
- Click "Next" twice.
- "Linear Key Format 2" should now be showing.
- Click on AOrdAmt.
- In the "Accidental Order and Amount" dialog that apperas, click on "Prev".
- "Unit -1" should be showing.
- Leave Step Level at 6 (this means B) but change Amount from minus 1 to zero (this replaces the flat with a natural).
- You have made your key signature! Press Return three times to get back to the score.
Best wishes,
Michael Cook
Hey,
I'm trying to use a non standard key signature. A client wrote a piece in what is essentiall c harmonic minor. He wants Eb and Ab in the signature and a natural sign for the B. It can be displayed in the traditional order, though (B-E-A).
I've spent an hour trying to make things work, but as the manual says "this aspect of Finale is among its most technical" (read: incomprehensible).
Can anyone help?
