Ya, ya, ya. I do it both ways, but mainly I don't do it at all. (Macro program.)

Anyway, I think the problem was the the ctrl key state was messed up somehow. When I rebooted, the menus reverted to normal.

Wow. That's seriously old-school. I haven't done that in years. I always click and release, then click on the menu selection.


And as I might add - the strain by pressing down while scrolling probably
hurts your hand more than the 2 separate clicks - so you might want to adapt
your habits.
