There is such a sadness in that question.

There are enough musicians, composers, artists, dancers, novelists, poets,
etc., to fill school and community arts programs. But it will be volunteer
work, self-motivated, independently organized, and out-of-pocket.

When I taught, it was mostly volunteer, first in urban New Jersey, and then
in rural Vermont. For six of those years I was paid, but worked on site
twice the number of compensated hours. Were I younger, I would do it again.

Is there truly another answer? Think of it as artistic samizdat.
