Catching up on the news of two weeks ago? The reason we said IE wouldn't be updated was BECAUSE MICROSOFT HAD EXPLICITLY SAID EXACTLY THAT ON A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS. The announcement of IE7 was a big deal precisely because it was a high-profile reversal of a previous policy that Microsoft had trumpeted quite widely. Of course, the discussion on this list about updating IE was about IE *Mac*, and IE7 is *not* going to be created for any OS but WinXP and Win2K3 Server. They do not plan to create a version for Win2K nor for the Mac. So, the situation is pretty much exactly as it was before in regard to the subject in question, the updating of the Mac version of IE. -- David W.
