However, are you sure you didn't have the max measure width set to a value which simply doesn't allow larger measures?

I have had this problem several times in the past years, usually attributable to incomplete measures, too many grace notes, or measures with large time signatures. The incomplete measure makes sense (if it's not auto-filled with rests). I understand the grace note problems have been fixed (I'm on 2K3). Does the large-measure problem remain? (I mean measures of greater than 25 or so in the numerator, which I use to create measureless scores or section-length measures.)
Now and then, nothing could shake these spacing-corrupted measures, including TGTools. The only answer for me was to delete the measure and its right neighbor entirely (not just clear them). If I deleted just one measure, the mis-spacing would move to the next measure. Then I could insert new measures, and re-enter the information.
